Federal Express Entry

Federal Express Entry is the fastest and the most popular approach for applicants seeking a new life in Canada. Express Entry program processes applications for people who wish to immigrate to Canada and acquire Canadian permanent residence. There are 3 immigration programs under Federal Express Entry Canada. 

CANADIAN EXPERIENCE CLASS

Do you have experience working or studying in Canada? If yes, then this program is a pathway for you to make Canada your long-term permanent home through Federal Express Entry.

REQUIREMENTS

To be eligible for the program you must meet the following criteria:

  • Plan to live outside of the province of Quebec
  • Skilled work experience in a NOC 0, A, B occupation
  • Have 1 year of full-time (1560 hours or 30 hours/week) paid work experience within the last 3 years
  • Authorized work experience in Canada
  • Part-time work experience (15 hours/week) of over 2 continuous years.
  • Proof of language proficiency NOC 0, A = CLB 7, NOC B = CLB 5 in all four skills

FEDERAL SKILLED WORKERS PROGRAM

Are you a skilled worker with foreign work experience? Then this program might be the ideal option for you! To acquire Federal Express Entry through the Federal Skilled Workers Program, you need to fulfill the following conditions. 

Selection factors and points

The following selection factor points are used to assess your eligibility for the Federal Skilled Worker Program.

The 6 selection factors are:

  • age
  • education
  • work experience
  • whether you have a valid job offer
  • English and/or French language skills
  • adaptability (how well you’re likely to settle here)

 

The selection factors are assessed for each application and assigned an overall score out of 100.

If you score 67 points or higher, you may qualify for the Federal Skilled Worker Program.

If you meet the other requirements too, you can submit a profile to the Federal Express Entry pool. Once you’re in the Express Entry pool, there exists a different system to rank your profile.

If you score lower than 67 points, you won’t qualify for the program. 

You may be able to get a higher score by doing things like:

  • improving your language skills
  • completing another degree, diploma, or certificate
  • receiving an offer of arranged employment in Canada

 

REQUIREMENTS

The requirements to be met are as follows:

  • Skilled work experience in a NOC 0, A, B occupation
  • Have 1 continuous year of full-time (1560 hours or 30 hours/week) paid work experience within the last 10 years
  • Part-time (15 hours/week) work experience over 2 continuous years.
  • Proof of language proficiency CLB 7 in all four skills
  • Canadian secondary or post-secondary degree, or a completed foreign credential and an ECA.
  • Proof of funds for the applicant and accompanying family unless:
    • currently able to legally work in Canada
    • have a valid job offer from an employer in Canada

FEDERAL SKILLED TRADES PROGRAM

If you are a skilled worker with a specific trade qualification, then this is the right program for you to come to apply through Federal Express Entry Canada. 

The trades that qualify are under these group of National Occupational Classification (NOC):

  • Group 72 Industrial, electrical and construction trades
  • Group 73, Maintenance and equipment operation trades
  • Group 82, Supervisors and technical occupations in natural resources, agriculture and related production
  • Group 92, Processing, manufacturing and utilities supervisors and central control operators
  • Group 632, Chefs and Cooks
  • Group 633, Butchers and Bakers

REQUIREMENTS

The requirements to be met are as follows:

  • Plan to live outside of the province of Quebec
  • Have 2 years of full-time (1560 hours or 30 hours/week) work experience in a skilled trade within 5 years before applying
  • Meet all job requirements for that skilled trade according to the National Occupational Classification (NOC)
  • Have an offer of full-time employment for atleast 1 year or a Certificate of Qualification in that skilled trade issued by a Canadian provincial or territorial body
  • Proof of language proficiency CLB 5 speaking and listening, CLB 4 reading and writing
